The work & the place

This post gives some basic information about the hostel where I'm volunteering, the tasks and  accomodation and meals.

Hostel Playeros works with international volunteers who receive breakfast and dinner, sleeping place in exchange for 5 hours of work.

The place:

All furniture is home-made and home-painted.

The work - this fruit is ' Njami', family of the manioc. Everybody prepares it like ' fried potatoes' after peeling.

Here I'm building chairs and banks , in a traditional style. With plywood from pallets and that's it, basic materials !

Also the doghouse is constructed this style.

Here we have some volunteers enjoying dinner.

Then we learn how to prepare 'Empanadas' or 'Salgadas'. Art of working like an Italian with the dough !

This is the result.

Then we have a giant fish called 'Dourada'. The boys 'Gonzalo' and ' other one ' Facundo', explained me to prepare it !

Then the final motto of Playeros :

 'Aqui ninguem tem stressa' - translated - 'Here nobody has stress'.

Then another task is to buil shelters. It's not straight forward like an 'IKEA' building packet. But since Alex (Latvia) and me are experienced with carpenting it was going quite well.
